All hogs are kept outdoors their entire lives. Portable huts offer a place to get out of the weather and provide shade during the Texas heat. Also we provide our hogs with water misters to keep cool with along with puddles or wallows. Since hogs can’t perspire to keep cool they must be able to regulate their body temperatures through evaporation by getting wet and then allowing the air to dry them.

Our Natural Pork production protocol does not allow for any of our animals sold as “natural pork” to have been medicated at any time with antibiotics. We never mix antibiotics in our feed.

Our sows are bred natural by boars outside in 3-10 acre paddocks. They are moved to farrowing paddocks just prior to farrowing or giving birth. The piglets are weaned after 6 weeks when the mothers are taken back to the large paddock and bred back after a short rest
